The Benefits of Blueberries for Skin

Blueberries are a superfood with immense health benefits. Loaded with vitamins, and antioxidants these nutrients work wonders for your health and your skin. Why are antioxidants so important? Antioxidants scavenge free radicals from the body cells and prevent damage caused by oxidation which equals less aging, better skin tone, and overall health. How to Make it

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup blueberries (I use frozen)

  • 1-2 tsp fresh ginger (peeled and sliced) or sub for 1 tsp ground ginger

  • Lemon Juice (juice of 1 lemon or 2 tbsp of store-bought lemon juice)

  • 2/3 cup water

  • Honey (optional)

Directions:

  1. Peel and slice fresh ginger root (about 1 tbsp) and set aside.

  2. Add blueberries, lemon juice, ginger, and water in a small blender.

  3. Add honey to taste (optional).

  4. Blend until smooth.

Note:

Adjust the amount of ginger and lemon to taste. I love the fresh flavors of ginger and lemon but they might not be for everyone as the ginger is spicy and the lemon is sour.
