Living Large in a Tiny Kitchen
I used to decorate empty wall spaces with art, but since moving into a small cottage, I need each room to function like never before.
Finding Function
In Scandinavian design, they value utility above decoration, and they make it look so beautiful! I kept this in mind while redecorating my tiny kitchen. I’m using my walls to hang kitchen items I might otherwise store, and I’m saving precious cabinet space along the way. See some of my favorite ideas below.
Putting my cookware on the wall saves me a ton of cabinet space. I found these brass pot racks at Ikea, and they work perfectly in a small kitchen. Since my pots are now on display, I decided to decorate my wall with this beautiful set from Goop, but it looks like they don’t make them anymore. This set has a similar look for less.
I love using kitchen wall space to hang cutting boards. I found this wooden peg rack on Amazon and painted it the same color as my walls to give it a built-in look.
Since I don’t have much counter space for cook books, I love the idea of putting them on the wall. I found this set of 2 classic white floating shelves on Amazon.
I decided to add this ikea bookshelf to my kitchen for extra storage. It’s perfect for cups, glass pitchers, and decor.
