Our Little House

This past month my husband and I sold our little house that we bought back in 2018. We purchased the home to downsize and save money for a couple of years, and I completely fell in love with the simple life we created there. As we lived there, I worked on the house nonstop, from tiling the kitchen floor and bathroom to painting every inch of the inside and outside. I became obsessed with bringing my vision for the home to life (with plenty of help from my parents and husband). I will miss this house immensely, but our family has outgrown the space. Check out some of my favorite pictures of the home below.

For the exterior, we went with Sea Serpent by Sherwin Williams, and for the door Daisy by Sherwin Williams.

We decided on a wooden pergola with cafe lights for the back porch. It added so much ambiance to the space.

Instead of a traditional patio, we saved money and covered the back with weed barrier and pebblestone. We created an outdoor dining area with cement pavers and topped it off with a blue and white striped umbrella.

A couple of years ago, I planted these limelight hydrangeas. I love how they pop against the dark exterior color.

During Covid, I decided to put in a garden. I dug out the space, then topped it with a weed barrier and the same pebblestone as the back patio area. For the raised garden beds, I used these corner brackets and 1”x12” boards. The fence is made up of 4”x4” posts, 1”x4” boards and this wire fencing.

The kitchen in this house was tiny so I decided to keep it light and bright. To add some interest, I tiled the floors with this indigo-patterned floor tile.

Since I didn’t have a lot of space I decided to hang my pots and pans on the wall with these ikea pot rails. I love this goop set of pots and pans but it doesn’t look like goop makes them anymore. This set has a similar look for less.

Another space saver was to put all my cutting boards on the wall with this wooden peg rack. I painted it white to match my wall.

I also added these floating shelves to store my cookbooks on the wall.

For the entryway, I added board and batten with wooden pegs to hang coats and hats. I topped it off with this blue and white storyline wallpaper.

For the living room, I decided to add some blue and white with this large Nuloom rug.

Our bedroom was small but cozy. I decided to keep it simple and top it off with this boho woven pendant light. I love this blue floral printed duvet from Target.

Goodbye, little house… It’s been a wonderful journey.
Now on to the next project.

Follow my journey.
